"At the early age of 5, my mother taught me how to sew by hand. Using fabric scraps, sequins, and cotton balls, I would make simple creatures that emulated animals and people. I soon started using my mother's sewing machine. By 11 years old, I was sewing my own clothes and accessories for school, and making stuffed animals and dolls for my friends. Even the faculty of my high school were purchasing my toys to give as gifts. Years later, I was artistically trained at Parsons the New School for Design in NYC and obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Product Design. The compulsion to make things has never left me. I am mostly recognized for my bright and colorful paintings, but when I am not painting, I still enjoy sewing and working in textiles. My ultimate goal is to produce work of playful subject matter that is uplifting and positive. People need beautiful things to look at to make them feel better just as much as the artist needs to create them."
